Quenya is the language of the High-Elven people in J.R.R. Tolkien's mythical Middle Earth. In the course of telling his tales, Tolkien created the Tengwar script to write many of the languages of Middle Earth, including Quenya. These languages had their own styles or "modes"--a set of rules describing how to read the letters. As close as possible, I tried to match the Quenya mode in the transliterator. Because of the rules of English orthography and the limitations of an automated program, an exact correspondence cannot be easily achieved. Thus, the mode on this page is actually a Quenya derivative which can be referred to as "web mode" or "Preuitt mode". Below describes how it is read:
