Klingon Transliterator Comment Book

The pIqaD transliterator is a work in progress. I do not speak Klingon nor have much knowledge of the tongue. I do know that there is no "Official" writing system for Klingon, though the one under development here is based on a popular choice for writing Klingon. I would like to be an advocate for establishing a writing standard for the language and would appreciate your input.

This transliterator is intended to translate English into the Klingon writing system. This makes it doubly difficult because many sounds don't corelate between the languages. How would a Klingon transliterate English into his own tongue?

I am considering adding another transliterator that would transliterate Klingon written with the Roman alphabet to pIqaD. The reason I have not done this first is because the number of pages written in Klingon are far outnumbered by those written in English.

Please leave your comments here. I will check them often and affect changes quickly. -- Dustin

Maybe you should make two transliterators: one for Klingon and another for English

Hi Dustin, I still did not totally go through the transliterator fully and the functionalities of it. But I will do it. I am Mohini, Sheela's aunt.

Ok. If you run this on http://www.kli.org/kli/langs/KLItlh.html, which happens to be a page of Klingon you can quickly see that the pIqaD is not maching up right. The first one I saw was the q and Q are not going right.. it spells Qapla' with a little q. If you need help with this you can contact me @ qurgh@REMOVEMEhome.REMOVEMEcom and take out the removeme bits, I put that there to stop spam. qurgh

If you bothered to read the FAQ or the message posted above, you'd see that it said it was an English (Roman) to English (pIqaD) transliterator. Of course it wouldn't match up.
